My Village Life

I was born in a small village. I studied upto Vth Std in village. I still remember,
we have to go by foot in a school, which was 3 KMs away from our village.
Though we are lucky that our school was not much far as other Indian village
schools. There was a small river near our village; we have to cross that riv
er to reach school. And on return we took bath in the river. In winters,
the water was chill, so built a small way with the help of stones to cross
the river. I still remember those childhood school days --- no fear of any thing,
no worry, only thing we have was happiness and joy, that’s the childhood
one enjoy. But at that time there was no song like
School chale hum….ho ho….school chale hum…”
We missed that one.

While going to school we used to take chappati, onion and lassi in small
bottle, to keep it cool, we put it under the ground, in lunch time we took
it out and always found that lassi cold, I still feel that taste. One more
thing, for making our handwriting good, in school we have to write
daily on a patti, made of wooden with black ink with the help of
wooden stick. And when back from school, we have to wash that patti to
make it ready for the next day. In the evening, we play lots of game which
include cricket, hide and seek, racing etc. After passing Vth Std. I went in
acity and came back after passed out my Tenth class. I did my graduation
from a small town. I have to go by bus. There were not much bus
services at that time. The buses were full and we have to sit on the
roof, it was risky and entertaining also.

Will continue in the next part...
