Facts about CFL

Most of us have heard about CFL (Compact Florescent Lamp). But most of us don’t know the relationship between bulbs and Carbon dioxide. The bulbs not only consume more electricity but they produce more Carbon dioxide and heat, which causes harm to our environment and increase global warming. Heat produced by an ordinary bulb wastes 90% electricity.

When we use CFL Tubes instead of an ordinary bulb, then not only we save on our electricity bills, but decreasing global warming and also giving better environment to our next generation. The light produced by CFL is also pleasing. According to an estimate, in one year an 11-Watt CFL can save 20 Kgs of Carbon dioxides. A 15-Watt bulb consumes 1.5 unit of electricity, but a 15-Watt CFL consumes only ½ unit in a day. In villages, people don’t know the use of CFL and mostly use bulbs. According to them, the CFL is costly. They are right, but CFL is better option for bulbs. CFL saves electricity and its life is longer than bulb. I think the Government should take initiative in this regard, for reducing the price of CFL and spread the message among public for use of CFL instead of bulbs.

Though, it should be the duty of every citizen to save our precious environment, little efforts by everyone in this regard could save a lot. I hope you will use CFL in your home instead of bulbs and also tell all this to your children, friends and family. At last Earth is Ours, we have to protect it from any danger. I also hope if you will do this you will get a different feeling.

Do give me your comments and experience about the article.

Karva Chauth

Today is 29th October 2007 and this day is celebrated as Karva Chauth Vrat or fasting ritual for married women in India. The meaning of Karva is clay pot and Chauth is Fourth. That’s why Karva Chauth is celebrated on the fourth night after the full moon in Kartik month (Hindu calendar).

The old stories about Karva Chauth is that a queen once prayed to a Godess to win back her husband who was bewitched by another woman. According to another story, married women confront Yama, the Hindu Lord of death, for their husband's longevity. It also reveals the power of women to make even death bow down to their strength.

Karva Chauth is perhaps the most romantic of all Indian Festivals and is celebrated by the North Indian Community. On this day married women traditionally apply mehendi (henna) on their hands. Women pray and fast for their husband’s long life. The fast begins at sunrise. Some women do not eat or drink anything including water until the moon rises at night. Women enjoy the rituals and the accompanying festival.

At night when the moon rises, the wives see it either reflected on water or through a sieve, or offer their prayers. They then see their husbands face again reflected in the water or through the sieve with the moon, and pray for his long life. The husband then breaks her fast by giving her a sip of water and places something sweet in her mouth.

Karva Chauth is very popular, even young women whose marriages are in the offing observe the fast for their would-be husbands.

Our Love for Birds

Today one thing clicked in my mind. How much we care for our nature. But there are people who care for the nature, some take it seriously and for some it’s just to watch and enjoy, not to care for. Recently in my balcony and kitchen window pigeons have laid eggs. One thing what I noticed was that, most of the time pigeons sit on the egg till the chicks are not out, and it took more than 20 days to the chicks to come out from the eggs. How difficult to sit on a place without moving? But that’s care and love, they care for that, even though they know that after sometime they will fly and will not be with them.

Daily I see them and put water for them, it gives me peace, something I feel in my heart that I am doing some good work, a satisfaction, which can be felt and cannot be described. I remember some moments of my childhood, when I was living in village; I use to feed to peacocks and other birds on the roof. Even sometimes when I have wheat in my hand, the peacock used to come to me and feed from my hand, wow!! I still remember the feeling when peacock put his beak on my palm, its wonderful feeling.

The dance of peacock is marvelous; you might have read in books that when peacock dances, the female peacock shed tears, but I have seen all this. But now when I visit village, I don’t find much peacocks, and their sweet voice. Sound from my heart comes:Where are those days?” (kahan gaye woh din…). May be shortage of water and less trees are the reasons for their demise.

Though in cities the birds don’t have much places to make their nests. We are having big buildings all around and less greeneries (where the birds make their nests). That’s why we do not see many birds in cities in comparison to villages.

Studying Abroad !!

I want to share about the experiences of students who went abroad for study. Recently my neighbor’s son went to Australia for MBA. His parents arranged all the money for his study and for stay. When he reached there, he was very eager to see a new country (which he might have dreamed of), lots of dreams are there in his mind. Other Indian students were also there, they were from different parts of India. First few days were very hard for him; he was not being able to adjust himself, as was the case with other students. They thought for some part time work so that they can bear some of their expenses. But the work they could get was car cleaning, house cleaning and so on, which they have never expected to do, not even in India. They all felt lonely, away from home and were seen like outsiders with a different looks (which can be expected in a foreign country).

After staying there for sometime he realized that most of the students don't want to study there, but their parents have forced them for study in a foreign country. Every night after talking to their parents in India the tears flow from their eyes, they cried in depress and in the end started drinking, so that they could sleep in the night. (What a terrific situation for them). My neighbor’s son told the whole story to his parents on phone and requested that he wants to come back and study in India only. Another reason given by him was that the scope of study in Australia was not of much useful in India (I don’t know that was right or wrong). His parents agreed (though they have already spent 4 Lacs Rupees). Upon hearing of his return other students congrats him that he is very lucky. But the others could not do, because they know their parents have made such expenses on their study.

The conclusion I got was, this situation might not be with everyone, it may happen to someone when you are going away from home. That’s what we call home sickness. It’s only the initial days you have to take pains. One who concentrate of study and have some dreams might succeed. Thanks for reading patiently, got some idea to tell??

Memories of School Days

Today I want to share with you days of my primary school. I was born in a small village. Our village is situated near the bank of a river. At that time the river flows. But it has dried up now. There was no school in our village and I have to go in a school situated in a nearby village, aprrox. 3 Kms. away. Yes, it was by foot at that time there was no vehicle. With my friends, I tried to reach school early so that we can play there; you know what game we play? We play with a ball made of cloths; it’s like playing football. We enjoyed this game so much.

We bring roti (chapatti), onion and lassi in bottle with us for lunch. After reaching school, we put lassi under sand so that it keeps cool till lunch and I tell you it works and the taste was wonderful of that lassi. It has a different fragrance in it, still remember that one. But nowadays that taste is not available; everything seems to be artificial now. Just before the end of school we were given dalia or something else to eat. For making our handwriting better, we write on a wood plate (1x2 ft in size). A sticks pen is used to write on the plate with the help of Black ink. After reaching back home from school, we have to wash that plate for the next day.

In winters, the water of river was chilled; to cross the river, we made a small bridge with the help of stones where the water was flowing less. What an experience it was!! I remember an incident of summers; I did not know swimming (I still cannot), one day we were taking bath in the river, some of my friends pushed me in deep water and I started throwing my hands to come out…uhh it was terrible for me… though they caught me and drew me out of water. After that incident I never took bath in the river. There are lots of such incidents, which I remember. You might also have such, share them with me.

Water Shortage Part-II (Effect of Cold Drinks)

This is in continuation of my earlier post Water Shortage Part-I . Another issue of great concern for shortage of underground water is the Cold Drinks manufacturing Companies. You might be surprised to know that but its true that these companies are using most of the underground water. These companies installed their plants only on those locations where the underground water available in good quantity. After installing the plants these companies start pumping out underground water without any limit. They not only pump out the water of their area but the water of the nearby locations without any limit. In other words, these companies are pumping out that water on whom they don’t have any rights and making huge profit on the water that doesn’t belongs to them. By doing this they are making the wells dry in those locations, which causes another adverse effect i.e. the farmers are not getting enough water from their wells and they are not being able to farm their crops. You know the results if the crops are not being seeded???

Strangely in our country we don’t have any such law that can restrict these companies from pumping out limited water. There should be law, which prescribe a certain quantity of water to be pumped out from the underground and not unlimited quantity. Even we, who consumes cold drinks, are also responsible and part of the shortage of underground water. When we drink a cold drink we should know that from where this cold drink has been manufactured, in that place, the farmers are not getting water and are not being able to farm their crops. Do we know that? By reducing cold drinks you will give your contribution in increasing underground water. “I don’t think cold drink have any good effect on our body”. May be I am wrong. I know you have some questions in your mind; I want to hear that from you, just express your views through your comments.

Water Shortage Part-I

Today I am going to tell you about the shortage of water we are facing in India, you may also have the same situation in your area. India is the second largest populated country. We need more water for agriculture purpose and for our personal use. The water sources are underground water, rainwater, rivers, ponds or dams. Due to excessive pumping out of under ground water, it is going low. But it is still the main source. The rivers are also not getting much water. When it rains heavily we faced flood situation, but when it did not we face water crises. (I think that’s the nature and excessiveness of everything is bad.) In rainy season, we are not concerned about the uses of water and we don’t preserve water. But come summer and the situation worsen. In summers, we talk about shortage of water, decline of water level in the country, pure drinking water and so on. Most of us don’t care much about water crises, but the reality is that we are facing severe shortage of drinking water. There are lot of reasons for such shortage and some how we all are responsible for this.

As I said earlier underground water is the main source of drinking water. Though we get good rain in rainy season but still we faced shortage of water in summers. Reasons for that are the ponds situated near the cities for providing drinking water are not being filled properly. Because enough water does not reach in the ponds due to large scale of constructions taken place in the city. Earlier the same water reached the ponds and recharged nearby wells, but now it is not happening. The governments or the concerned officials are not taking care of these facts. What the government or the Municipal Corporations in the cities doing is that they are digging hand pumps in almost every colony of the city. But from where these hand pumps get water, is there underground water available in every colony? The answer is ‘No’, after installing hand pumps no one cares about them whether the water from these hand pumps are coming or not. Waste of money. I am concluding here that part otherwise it will be long.

In the next part, read how Cold Drinks play a major role in water crises.

Crime in Young Generation

The robberies of Mobile phones are on the rise in the city. Mobile shops and passer-by have being targeted. When in such an incident a robber was caught, it was found that he was well educated and was studying for professional degree. Could not understand, if educated people will do such crimes then how we can blame uneducated? It seems that to fulfill their own necessities they can do anything. They can put others life in danger. But they don’t know what will be the consequences of all this. They will be put in jails, their career will be ruined, but while doing such crimes they don’t think about this, at that time they only need money and might think that they are the cleverest and no body will know about them.

One should spend in his limits; you have less money, try to live in that and don’t harm others life for your own need. But globalization and commercialization have brought more products and more money. They see new products in market with their relatives and friends and lure towards them. To getting them they do such crimes. They should understand their own need and others. Most of these crimes are being committed by the young generation. They should control themselves, but will they? Don’t know where we will go?? Will you share with me any such incidents happened in your area?

Forcing Children in illicit Trade

Dear friends, I hope you are enjoying my posts, if any thing wrong do let me know, I would be glade to hear anything from you.

As you all might know that child labour is a big problem in some countries or may be in most of the countries. Children are being forced for work at an early age, the age at which they should be in school. But the poverty forced them to work instead of going to school. They don’t know the work they do is good or bad for them. They have to work to survive. Therefore, children are being used for begging, acting as couriers for drugs and narcotics and for human trafficking. Most of these children are being forced in this trade. Events have come to notice that in some cases parents have sold their children for money. Can’t understand how parents can do that, but for their own survival, they are selling their own blood. (children whom they might have loved, when they were born). It might also be painful for them to sell their own heart.

Human trafficking is also on rise. Young girls are being abducted or purchased for little penny and forced for flesh trade (sex rackets). These girls have to bear the brunt of all types of people. The people who do such acts don’t care what they are doing; they have the money and its enjoyment for them. We don’t have strict law in this regard to curb such acts.

Now the Government is considering capital punishment for those who are found for misusing a child for trafficking or peddling of drugs. That will be a great step (if we could do that), but there should not be any loopholes in it, otherwise we in India found every way (gali) for the crime. Let’s hope this step will take care of the children and the mafias do not bury their childhood.

If you have time, share the situation of children in your country and how it is being dealt?

Kids of New Generation

Due to increase of Metro culture, health clubs, stylish saloons and fashionable clothes , the budgets of Kids have also increased. Now-a-days beauty conscious kids in the age group of 8-16 are taking appointments for beauty seating in parlors. As per the beauty experts this business is booming.

“Mom my laser style is old. I want Katrina style haircut…”

“Didi, I will go with you in parlor…”

“Mom my skin is rough. Please bring herbal face pack for me” and so..on.

The Kids are spending frequently on their beauty, on costly branded clothes and on other extraneous things. They want to look smart. Parents are not stopping even they want their Kids to look smart. I know there is nothing wrong in it but everything should be in limit. The kids have changed their way of wearing. You see how the girl’s wear now a days, even in the US style of wearing of lower half pant was criticized.

Once I was on a medical shop, I saw a girl wearing jeans and short T-shirt (the girls nowadays wear which shows their tummy). I know there is nothing wrong in it. The people were watching her, what they were watching was from her backside her panty was visible. Even I could not take away my eyes off. But I felt embarrassed in such a situation. I ask you, what is the need of such dress, what you are going to show, even like this you are showing vulgarity. May be you wanted to show yourself smart, but this is not the way to produced yourself. I may be wrong in writing this, may be some of you agree with me may be not. But like this kind of wearing you are producing trouble for yourself.

What you think about that put them in writing, waiting for your comments.

Sex Determination??

Recently I came to know that a village Panchayat has decided to take measures in order to prevent female foeticide. The Panchayat has decided that they will give prize money of Rs.5100 to the person giving information about illegal sex determination tests being conducted in their area. The Panchayat have also decided that they will punish the people indulging in it. I think it’s a great step taken for prevention of female foeticide by the panchayat. The Panchayat has set an example to eradicate evil from the society. This kind of decision is very important. If the female foeticide continue, there will be great imbalance of sexual ratio. The government should encourage the efforts of the Panchayat and support them. I think electronic Media can play an important role. Media should highlight the efforts of the Panchayat so that more people come forward to eradicate this evil from the society.

Earlier a boy selects her bride in many girls and many were rejected. But due to this imbalance in sexual ratio, the trend has been changed; now the girls are rejecting the boys as they have the choice now.

Sex determination is not being done in villages but in cities also, where educated people live. The difference in villages is that if they have baby boy they will go for the next child to get boy. They don’t go for the test. And in such process they have more than three children. But in our cities, if we get first child baby girl then for the next we will go for sex determination test and if again the girl then the chances are that abortion will be done.

The doctors who are doing all this are not even scared about the laws made in this regard. They are making good bucks; actually our law enforcing bodies are not doing their work in the right way. They all know what’s happening and where it is being done but they also take bribe and let the things happens. This is our society, we the individuals or with the help of group should take up the matter for prevention of female foeticide.

Some fertility centers have come up and claim that by taking their advice it will be boy. Actually in my opinion these centers should also be banned. They also come in the same category as tests conducted for sex determination. But still lot to do in this regard. (“Abhi bahut kuchh karna hai”).

Kindly share with me your views, whether the same is being done in your country or any such incidents in your family, in your neighborhood.

Enjoy Life

Stress in our life is increasing day by day. We have been pressing hard for everything, seems that life is going too fast and we don’t have time for our own health. Just running to get something.

When you are working too much, then you are sweating bullets, your heart's pounding, your mouth seems dry; you are about to fall sick. These are typical signs of stress. How your body reacts to stress can vary. It can be overwork or the tension of share market or to perform best in a group or athletes to deliver the best and many more.

It is often mental and emotional attitude of a person that dictates whether stress is good or bad for any one individual. We spend our weeks racing round with no time left to relax. We are dogged by insomnia, depression, irritability or anxiety, and consequently, overdose on drink, coffee, drugs and cigarettes.

To make matters worse we are becoming cyber-slaves and the laptop is the scourge of the 21st century, eroding family life and relaxation. Mobile phones chain you to the office even when you are on holiday, faxes clog your desk and computers take up more time than they save.

The stress could be of work and family like starting or finishing college, moving house, changing your work hours, having trouble with the boss, or going on holiday. These can be the death of a friend, partner or close relative, a child leaving home, the death of a partner, debts, injury or illness, being fired, retiring, getting divorced or getting married. Even children suffer stress. Though we don’t notice that.

However, it is not these external life events that determine how stressed we get, it's how we, as unique individuals, process the experience. It is not what happens but how we react that causes our stress overload. Stress is your body's biochemical reaction to how you live your life. Stress can develop into distress and disease through your personal adaptation to internal and external environments.

Stress is closely linked to the autonomic nervous system. It floods our bloodstream with the hormones adrenaline, which arouse strong physiological responses, including the blood being directed from the intestines and skin to the heart and brain, increased heart rate, faster breathing and profuse sweating.

However, when stress is excessive in everyday life, it becomes a problem. It can certainly be uncomfortable to the point where it is counter-productive, crippling performance and stifling normal activity, leading to both physical and psychological problems.

Though we realized stress when we fall sick or with some other diseases attack us। The better way to cope up with stress is try to be happy and enjoy your work; never take is as a burden on you. Share some moments with your family daily without talking to your office matters. By giving some time to our self we can control it; otherwise the effect will be dangerous.

Noise Pollution

Yesterday I was going to office and it was rush on the crossing (as usual), the traffic was crawling. When the light went on Green, the vehicles started blowing horns. And the noise was at its peak..P P P PO PO and so on. It was very irritating. Notice that moment on Indian Roads, when you are on a crossing and the light is Green. I could not understand one thing, why people blow the horn, when there is no need, especially on the traffic light. As we all know the vehicle going ahead of us has to go when the light will be Green, it cannot pick its speed by just pushing a button. But we still blow horn. Can’t understand that? May be its our tendency to blow horn, when the light is Green. When you are on a signal, notice, is there any need to blow horn?

In fact, in ordinary way, when we are going on a road, not much of rush, suddenly you notice that a motorcycle or car coming speedily blowing horn, why he was doing that, he may know better or even he never thought that what he is doing. These persons don’t care about noise pollution. Even on some instances I told the persons who were blowing horn, why he is doing like that, they realized it and stopped blowing. It means the people don’t realize it and its usual driving for them. We are creating lots of noise pollution by blowing unwanted horn. We should realize that, and I hope we can reduce noise pollution. I hope that any one of you doing that, just for the sake of environment, don’t blow unwanted horn.

What you think, am I right? Drop your comments.

How much we care for our Parents?

Recently, on television I saw a daughter was beating her father. I was shocked on watching this. It was a recorded scene and it looks that I was watching some movie. The details of the news were; the daughter (married) was having some doubt that her father aged 65 was having relationship with another woman. And this woman was her uncle’s wife (father’s Bhabhi). The daughter told that when she reached her father’s home, he was in an unusual situation with another woman. The daughter along with her mother beat that woman with sticks (jhadu). When her father tried to apart the woman from them, his daughter also beat him with the help of her husband and mother. According to the daughter, her father is having relationship with that woman. But the father said “that woman was taking care of him for the last few years and my daughter along with her husband are having doubt that I will give my land to that woman. That’s why they create that mess up and beat me.”

The thought came in mind was, where we are heading….? What is going on in our society? Whose statement is correct? Can at the age of 65 years, a man have that kind of relationship with his bhabhi? (May be yes, may be no). Or his daughter is lying and too wants to grab the land of her father? Whatever the reason is. One thing is sure, now a days LAND dispute is common in family violence. Till now we heard about son having crisis with his father but nowadays daughters are not even sparing their blood relations and attacking them for LAND or you can say for money. Money is what matters nowadays.

The question is to whom we are fighting with. To those who have given us birth, to those whose fingers we hold in the childhood, whom we loved so much in childhood, to those who brought us at this level or to those who always cares for us. We are hurting, fighting with those, who want us to get a good job in life, who wants us to get married in a good family, who wants us to see happy at every moment of life. They only thought about us. If they have given us so much, what we are giving to them; sorrow, grief, distress, unhappiness and pain, at every level. Whether they have ever expected such treatment from us. They never. But why we do that. Why we are fighting, making arguments with them now, why they are our enemy now. Is it only money, which keeps us apart?

Why don’t we remember those beautiful childhood days? If, for a moment, we remember those days, we might avert such incidents. But alas! We are not doing that. We should not forget, where we are now, is only due to them. Care for them, love them and give them happiness. This is the best we can do for our parents.

Divorce in the Society

Nowadays you might have heard lot of cases of cruelty faced by women. Even a newly wed wife is not spared for such incidents. Incidents have come to notice that after 1-2 years of marriage, the wife is being divorced by the husband or is burnt in the name of dowry or with other reason. Almost everyday you can watch such news on television.

Cases of divorce are on the rise in our society, it seems that we are catching the western countries in terms of divorce. You will be surprised that most of the cases of divorce are based on mental cruelty. Husbands and wives are increasingly citing only mental cruelty as the grounds for divorce. And in most cases, they get the verdict in their favor. Mental cruelty has such a wide area that many behavioral aspects can be brought under its umbrella. In a recent case, marriage of a couple came to end, with the Court upholding that the husband was at the receiving end of his wife’s cruel behavior because the wife did not want to cook for him, share his bed or bear his child. In that case the wife was cooking food for herself and not for husband, which would be an annoyance and may lead to mental cruelty, but it seems wife’s thinking was that she is also an officer.

One thing could not be understand here, why these couples got married, if they could not carry their marriage. May be it’s the infatuation between them for time being which compel them to tide the knot. Later on they found that they both are not made for each other. But what about those cases, where the parents arrange marriage. After sometime other side demands dowry, torture the woman and finally they divorced. In these cases, the women faced mentally tortured. Whether you live in the same house, but you are not being talked, the behavior of other family members are not good against you, all these come in mentally torture. It has been seen that husband, whom the woman thought her life partner is also against her. If such is the case how a wife can carry her life with him.

In some cases, the previous love also plays a major role in divorcing the couples. That is on the rise nowadays. I know one such case of my colleague, before marriage he was in love with someone. But the parents of my friend fixed his marriage with another girl, we told him he should tell his parents but it could not, even the girl whom he loves was ready to tell her and his parents, but the boy was not having such guts. The reason the boy got married with the girl his parents decided and the girl with her parents choice. We attended his marriage and his lover was also present in the marriage, we can understand the feelings the girl at that time. Brave girl!!!. What happened next was the boy did not like the wife chosen by his parents, though there is no fault of her. He did not talk to her and share her any thing, and it seems that he was punishing her. No fault of her. After sometime, we heard that the parents of the boy filed a case for divorce.

Another incidents on rise are wife killing her husband with the help of her lover, don’t understand what’s going on, just for a little charm, for some money, for a short pleasure we kill our own whom we decided to be our life partner. Though they might regret later on. I think the responsibility of both husband and wife is same. They should respect each other; at least for their children sake, they should keep each other intact.

It seems today the post is going bit long, but the subject belongs to all of us and ideas are flowing in. Your views and comments are welcomed.

Marriage Life - Happy or ...?

Yesterday I was reading a magazine and the topic, which got my attention, was something like “Sexless Marriage…”. I went for it. It was nicely written about the marriage and sexual life of a working couple. How they were happy before and after marriage and what their life was after the kids were born. Wife quits the job and their life has taken a new twist.

Now the wife has to devote more time for the kids and has less time for the husband and was not happy being at home all the time. It started irritating her and complaining to her husband, which also irritated the man. Mostly when the husband came home from office, the wife makes her demands and they start fighting even on issues of no relevance. Reading this article it looks that their life got miserable when the kids came in their life. They were fighting for money and strive for love. Because not they have less time for love nad have to take care and devote time to their kids.

I could not understand one thing, when we want kids, we should aware of the responsibilities ahead of us and should know that we have to sacrifice something for them and that is our time and devotion towards them. It will be the responsibility of both the partners. Though wife always cares more for children, for husband and for home, she has lots of responsibilities on her shoulders. Therefore, she might get more frustrated if husband will say something wrong. For men, it might be easier to order something, though women never deny all this. But she expects love and care from him. I don’t say this situation happens to every one.

I personally feel, arguments between husband and wife do take place, there might be few lucky who don’t argue or they don’t want to share. But the arguments should always be healthy and for the good. It should not be taken with heart. One thing is important i.e. just keep silent when your partner is saying something, the best way to avoid any conflicts. If we think for a while, when we are cool; why we argue? Why we fight with our partner? What we get from it? Does it give us peace or tension and depression? Do we this for dignity or to show someone or to prove that we are the superiors? Most of your answers will be in “No”. Then why we do all this? In my view, any argument should be for the betterment of our life and for our children and it should be finished without anything taken to heart. That will be a happy marriage Life.

Lots more to write but will do in future. Waiting for your comments and your experiences and what you do in such circumstances.

Life after Death

You might have heard about Life after Death. Many of us think that there is life after death though there are also people who think opposite. In childhood I have heard that after death ‘he-she became star in the sky’ or he may live another life of dog, cat, birds or…..so on. Then after some understanding I heard that there is soul…power in our body, which controls us, which I still believe. There are also some Books on these topics.

There are some other reasons to believe that we have soul and after death we get another life of any other creature. This belief got more strength due to some incidents happened in many parts of the world. In Rajasthan (India), more than two incidents happened where men after their death taken another birth in another village. And after a certain age of their rebirth they talked about their previous life. They know the names of their previous parents and relatives, even the name of his wife. When they went to their previous home, they recognized the path and showed everything what they did and where they lived, and recognized their relatives even by name. It looks strange!!! What will be situation of their previous ancestor, when they saw their own kin in a new avatar? How they could remember all this after death? There is something in this world, which controls that.

In another case, a person died due to some injury and in his re-birth the marks of the injury were on the same spot. Can you believe all this?????? When I read all this in newspaper I could not believe and really was so excited. I was eager to know all this….its new thing for me…till now I have heard about life after death in Books but these are the real incidents which have occurred. And these incidents forced us to believe there is life after death and if there is life there is GOD… the SUPERPOWER exists. That’s why we believe in GOD.

Though the scientist don’t believe on all these, they should not….b’cos they have been taught what you see and what you can prove, is the real thing. It also shows that what our Sadhu-Sants have said about life after death is true. They know the life; they might have the experience of these things.

Have you heard any such incidents? Share them with me.

Enjoy iNet…But Be Careful

It was in 1999, when I used net first time; at that time it was for emails and then got the courage of chatting. I love chatting and was very much addicted of it. I got lots of friends through chat, some were from India and some were from outside. At that time whoever wants to know about me, I gave them all the details about myself, did not know whether it was good or not. But luckily the friends I got were nice enough and we shared lots of ideas and views.

Yesterday, I was reading a magazine in which it was told that, while on net we should not disclose our identity and should not share about our self, should not discuss about our family or family matters, should not post our personnel photos and some more like this. Though I like that idea, because nowadays on net there are lots being happening. Fraud, cheating are increasing on net…lots of fake sites have also come up. Therefore, we should be aware, who knows with whom we are chatting or sharing our views is trustworthy or not. You cannot believe anyone.

Do you know what happened in Mumbai through Orkut? Three friends killed their own friend for money, which they met him on Orkut. It was terrific and the reality of sharing your secrets, about yourself on net. While you are on net, never leave anything behind, sometimes when we are in office we keep our accounts open. This can also harm us. Be careful that anything wrong should not happen with you. And never believe anyone, a trustworthy friend can also harm you on net. I hope all this will help you.

So keep blogging…chatting and Enjoy Life….

Pollution Through Celebrations

In the evening I was standing in balcony just trying to get what program was going on in the stadium. It was on since evening. What I got from the loudspeaker was it might be a MLM (Multi Level Marketing) program. Lots of noise and songs like ‘chak de india’ were on and in the middle of all these some person or lady announcing about his…her success in this business.

Well it was nice to hear all this, but around 2130 Hrs. there were lots of crackers being brunt and it all continues for 15 minutes, I came again in the balcony to watched all this…it was wonderful scene to watch in the sky especially for the kids. But when it all stops I saw huge balloons of smoke spread in the sky. Wow!!! What a MLM program…I thought they all are busy in their event but who cares about how much pollution they have spread through these crackers. Was it necessary? If they got any success, this should not be the way to celebrate. Celebration should not harm our environment.

After a rainy season the sky is clear and we want to breath deeply because after rain, you will not get any polluted air, its as fresh as the nature. But what havoc these MLM leaders have created in this beautiful nature they might not know because they are mast in their success. This is success for them and due to this success they are harming our environment, I think its shame and embarrassment on such success. We should not forget that we have to care our surroundings.

Well they all have gone and a sound came from inside me ye tune kya kiya’..chak diya India. Left all this for me... to think… there might be others like me, who think so. Then why don’t we come forward and make our voice, but I know it’s not easy, it’s easy to write all this in words. May be by writing it may have some affect on you, that while doing any function or programs please take care of your surroundings.

Am I right? What you thinking about…go ahead express your feelings through your comments.

Village Night on the Field

Today I am going to tell you my experience of working at night in village field.

In village there was shortage of electricity, its not like we have electricity in city. There was turn allocated for electricity, a week it was in day shift and the next it was in the night shift. Therefore, for watering crops we have to go to field at night also.
I am telling you about winter nights। The electricity comes at around 10 PM, therefore, I with my uncle (mamaji) packed ourselves with warm clothes, took our tea in thermos and left for the field around 9 PM. our field was 20 minutes away from home.

In village people went to bed around 8 PM, so the night was calm…and dogs have also gone to sleep. The moon was shining in the sky and milkyway was clearly visible. It was marvelous to see full moon in the village; one can see a distant object clearly. I don’t think in cities we get a glimpse of the milkyway. The kids only read in books about milkyway though I have shown my kids in village. In cities we hardly get that beautiful scene.
When the electricity came I switched on the motor and the water starts flowing towards the field, which was approx. 1 km away from the well. So after switching on the motor, we left for the filed. (how we water the crops read my earlier post My Memories with Radio in Village 1). After reaching field we removed our shoes… ouch the sand was very cold but the water was warm so we put our foot in the water. After watering an hour suddenly the electricity was off (it was usual in village). It came after five minutes.
My mamaji told me to go to the well and switch on the motor. I returned back to the well and switched on the motor and started back towards the field….suddenly when I was passing by through another well (which was not ours) something struck in my mind and reminds me of the person to whom this well belongs to. The person to whom this well belongs was died sometimes back and the people’s belief was that this man (soul) was visible at night near his well….oh my God….. in winters I was terribly terrified and got wet. Though it was a moon night and can see distant things visible, b’cos crops were small. Somehow remembering my God I reached on the field and prayed that the light should not go again….otherwise I have to go again near this well. I told my mamaji about that he told me “there is nothing like this, it’s all useless” (“aisa kuchh nahi hota ye sab bakwas hai.”)
Still when I visit village and passed through this well it reminds me of that incident. Though I don’t believe in ghost stories but in village “yes” sometimes I get terrified. Because ‘jiske saath hota hai wohi jaanta hai…’

Do you have any such incidents? Share with me through your comments.

Cricket in Village

If you are reading my earlier posts, this is in continuation with my memories of village. I am trying to write small post in a single day… so that you can read it.

In village, we were having buffalos for milking. Sometimes I used to take them for grazing with other friends in the morning and again in the evening. We were out for three to four hours, enjoying and playing some games in-group, climbing on trees. We carry the meal rapped in a cloth. One thing I noted was we enjoyed the meal much more on field rather than at home. The taste of meal at field was really different. Don’t know why?? May be after hard work the meal tastes better or the environment makes it tasty. But it was really great feeling having meal out of home on the field.
While returning in the evening with cattle, you might have read in books the evening scene, how the sun looks like at that time which is called “godhully” in Hindi. It was marvelous scene, which I have seen and was a part of that.
In the evening, we used to play cricket. The Bat was made of plain patta or the wood with which we wash cloths. The ball was made of by tearing cloth and then making the tear cloths rolled over and then stitches it with needle. It was hard one. The wickets were sticks of a neem tree or other tree putting them in the ground with the help of sand. The teams were made depending on the number of players available.
We used to play cricket sometimes in field or in galli or inside house. The courage was so high that sometimes only my brother and me play cricket and it continued for hours in hot. And sometimes I played with small children. Even if no one was at home, I used to hit the ball on the wall (my son does the same at home now and his mamma will say “apne baap par gaya hai”) when it rebounds back I hit it with bat trying to make different shots or was making bowling practice at home trying to swing or spin the ball.
Tournaments were being organized amongst different villages teams. The matches are mostly of 16 overs. We took part in those tournaments. After taking part in one or two tournaments, I became a prominent member of my village team. We participated in big tournaments by making team of combining good players of nearby villages. One thing I noted was they all respect me and called me in all the tournaments and soon I became a very known, familiar player around the villages. The most important point was my batting, bowling and fielding i.e. I was all a rounder. It was always difficult for the opponents to out me and when I bowl they fear of my bowling. Though I was not a very fast bowler.
We won many matches. I remember one incident, after joining my service I was out of village, my friend were playing in some tournament… 50 kms away from village. When I reached village in the night, they came at my home around 10 PM and requested me to play the semifinal match tomorrow. Even at that time my parents could not deny me and in the morning I went with them, and we won that match…..
At that time, for cricket, I could be anywhere; sometimes I have to face parent’s anger. But gone are the days now…..woh deen….

My Memories with Radio in Village -II

In sports I used to listen Cricket commentary and Tennis commentary at that time. In Men’s Tennis Boris Becker, John Mecnero and Stephen Edberg were hot favorite. Superb matches were played among them. In Women Tennis S. Graf, Navratilova and Sabatini were my favorite. I like the game of Graf but as a player I like Sabatini as she was very cute, lovely height, beautiful eyes and nice features. In 1983 when India won Cricket World Cup, I remember some moments. In the village mostly people slept by 8 or 9 PM at that time. After finishing dinner I was lying on the cot, listening commentary and the West Indies were 3 down and I got asleep, when in the morning I got up I was thrilled to know that India have won the World Cup…huuh what a moment it was.. so much crazy.
I also have a sad memory on Radio and it was the death of Rajiv Gandhi. In the morning I came to know that he was killed in a bomb blast. I went on the roof of my house (in the village we have big house and open one) with Radio in my hand waiting for the 8 AM news, when the news was being read I still feel the tears were flowing from my eyes and I wept and wept alone on the roof. I loved that leader so much.
I also used to listen foreign Radio Stations on SW i.e. Short Wave Radio. In most of the countries Hindi Services are being broadcasted through SW. My favorite foreign radio Stations were: BBC ki Hindi Seva, Radio Tashkent, Radio Peking (now Beijing), Radio Deutsche Welle(Germany), Voice of America, Radio Japan, Radio Varitas Asia (Philippines) Radio Masco and Radio Berlin International (it was when the Germany was not united) and some more. I wrote them letters through their embassies in India about their programs, asked questions about those countries and in return they send beautiful badges, calendars, material and postcards of that countries. When I wrote letters to them I used to write in my diary when I wrote a particular letter and was eagerly waited for their reply or their materials. It was something special feelings. This diary is still with me. When I got something from these countries my friends asked me how I got that and I told them then they also started listening these services. Crazy days…. after leaving village all those have been left behind and also the Radio… its so long since I have listened on Radio, even I don’t have radio now. Sometimes I think what I have enjoyed my children will not. They don’t know about the Radio, what they know is FM i.e. Faltu Masala.

My Memories with Radio in Village

I was thinking what to write today. Suddenly I went back in my dreams…...and lost in beautiful memories of my village life. What a life it was!!!! And I decided why not to write about my memories about the village life, the village life which most of you might have not seen or visited.
It was the period of 1980s; at that time the main entertainment or the media through which we get news in village was Radio. Most of the time when I was going to the field, the Radio was in my one hand…listening songs of that time i.e. old songs… beautiful voice of all time favorite and charming singers, which makes the environment pleasant. At that time the Radio was used for listening songs, news and of course for running commentary of cricket and hockey matches. There was a fix time for the news i.e. 8 AM, 2 PM and 9 PM which most of the people in the village prefer to listen and of course BBC Hindi Seva was also very much liked by us.
The courage was so high that we were made requests (through postcards) for a particular song so that we can listen our name on Radio and feel proud. And when our name was going to be announced we make the volume of Radio high …..so charming and thrilling moments they were.
Sorry I forgot to tell you about what we do on the field. We mostly sow crops of wheat, mustard & gram in winter season and bajra, guar in summer. Crops were being watered through well. I still have some memories (when I was of 4-5 years) that for watering the crops bulls, camels and in some places male buffalos were used, they draw water from the well and put the water in a tank (made of sand and chunna) and from there the water flows with the help of dhora from one field to another. The field area was again divided in small blocks, which were called kyari (area of 12x15 ft.), when one kyari filled its mouth was closed and the water goes in the next kyari and so on.
While working or watering the crops on field I put my radio on sand or on towel so that the Radio is dust free and listened sweet songs or commentary and waiting for the kyari to fill.. it was a routine work. After the coming of electricity in the village the work of pulling water from well was being done with the help of motors but the flow of water was same i.e. through dhora. Now in new generation pipes and fountain systems are being used for the same work. Still remembering that environment… fresh and clean air, no pollution whatsoever even at that time we didn’t know what is pollution.
But now I miss that life, that environment, that fresh air and the smell of sand, it was all natural.
My heart, my mind feels….. Kahan gaye woh deen…

Only Indian Team can loose such match, not Uthappa

While watching yesterdays match I decided what the heading of my blog and what I will write, but after watching Uthappa’s batting and Indian win I have to change my mind. A win can wash all your bad decisions. As I wrote in my earlier blog, the captaincy of Dravid is not good enough; he cannot take right decisions. What wrong he has done in this match:

He should know that slog overs are being bowled by main bowlers and not by part time bowlers.
Ajit Agarkar should have been given one spell after 36 overs and again the last over, though he was expensive but you must rely on your main bowlers.
Zahir Khan should have been brought after 45th overs.
In the batting line up, Uthappa should have been sent ahead of Dhoni.
If India lost that match, it was due to Dravid’s wrong decisions and Dhoni’s batting.
Here is little brief on Dhoni’s Batting:

Technically he is not a good batsman. For quite sometime I have been watching him and found that he is not being able to take singles easily. Even if you bowl him on his leg he will play it straight. He does not have many shots, he plays away from his body, and therefore, he was struggling for the singles. When Dhoni came to bat India required less than 7 run per over and then it reaches at 10. How he scored his runs per ball 8(18), 13(22), 15(24), 18(28) and in the end 35(37). It shows that he was not able to pick singles easily; you can take singles without taking risks. But India won, and therefore, Dhoni’s inning was good.

Don’t take it that I am criticizing him, but I have written what he played. Now the finest part.. how we won:

As you know, when a team at 137/5 with run rate of 4.5, can reach upto 250 in 50 overs. But due to bad bowling and bad captaincy they reached 316. Now it was for the Indian openers to provide a solid start and marvelous start given by the openers Sachin and Saurabh. Though I have been criticizing Ganguly, because he was not making runs quickly in power play, but in this match he did well. Watching Sachin’s batting was marvelous, his strokes were amazing. His strokes on leg side were beauty. The bowl on off stump is dispatched for FOUR on square legs, amazing flicks. When the openers got out, India required run a ball and any good team in the world would have made that easily on this wicket, where the ball is coming nicely. You need patience. But as our Indian Team has a tendency of making match exciting, they did the same. They lost wickets on regular intervals.

When Dhoni came instead of Uthappa, I was surprised, b‘cos Uthappa is an opener and can take singles easily and blast whenever he wants. Anyways this young man was having something in his mind and he completed his task in style. When in the 49th over he got two boundaries, I suddenly got exciting by the memories of Net West Trophy final, where Kaif was hitting at the same stage when India required 325 to win. And in that match also the boundaries were coming from behind the wickets. Yesterday was amazing display of batting by Sachin and Uthappa. Congrats goes to the Indian Batsman.

Our Paretns

Yesterday, in news on television I saw a daughter was beating her father. I was shocked on watching this news. It was a recorded scene and it looks I was watching some movie. The details of the news were; the daughter (married) was having some doubt that her father aged 65 was having relationship with another woman. And this woman was her father’s Bhabhi. The daughter told that when she reached her father’s home, he was in an unusual situation with another woman. The daughter along with her mother beat that woman with jhadu. When her father tried to apart the woman from them, his daughter beat him with the help of her husband and mother. According to the daughter, her father is having relationship with that woman. But the father said, that woman was taking care of him for some years and my daughter along with her husband are having doubt that I will give my land to that woman. That’s why they create that mess up and beat me.
The thoughts came in mind was, where we are heading….? What is going on in our society? Whose statement is correct? Can at the age of 65 years, a man have that kind of relationship with his bhabhi? (May be yes, may be no). Or his daughter is lying and too wants to grab the land of her father? Whatever the reason is. One thing is sure, now a days LAND dispute is common in family violence. Till now we heard about son having crisis with his father but nowadays daughters are not even sparing their blood relations and attacking them for LAND or you can say for money. Money is what matters nowadays.
But to whom we are fighting with. To those who have given us birth, to those whose fingers we hold in the childhood, whom we loved so much in childhood, to those who brought us at this level or to those who always cares for us. We are fighting, hurting to those, who wants us to get a good job in life, who get our marriage in a good family, they who wants us to see happy at every moment of life. They only thought about us. If they have given us so much to us, what we are giving to them; sorrow, grief, distress, unhappiness and pain, at every level. We don’t remember where we are now, is only due to them. Whether they have ever expected such life, such treatment from us. They never. But why we do that. Why we are fighting with them now, why they are our enemy now. Is it only money, which can apart us?
Why we don’t remember those beautiful childhood days. If, for a moment, we remember those days, we might avert those incidents. But alas! We are not doing that. I am so sad. I pray to GOD, please don’t make me like that.

KEEP YOUR ENVIRONMENT GREEN AND CLEAN
